UK Day 13 - John O'Groat to Inverness

A lot of travelling today. Blue skies again, fortunately, though the scenery along this road was nowhere near as spectacular as it was on the west and north coasts. There were more castles and castle ruins, though, so we were happy. What we were unhappy about was that some of them were private property, so we couldn’t get near them to take good photos. How rude ;-) :

There was some nice scenery too though:

And then there was Dunrobin Castle. This one was around 8.50 GBP per person for the building and gardens. It was quite nice:

The falconry display was really interesting:

Next stop was the Glenmorangie Distillery, which we happened to notice signs for on the side of the road. The tour was cut short because there were some areas we couldn’t see for some reason. But since the tours were free, it didn’t worry us. The girl took, us to the actual still room with 8 stills, which is still used, as well as the store-room which is aging the casks. Daniel liked the whiskey so much he bought 3 bottles!:

Next stop was our destination for the night, at Inverness. We drove into town and looked for a B&B. We finally found one just one street away from the Loch, and left our car parked a bit of a walk away, next to the Cathedral, so that we wouldn’t have to move it in the morning before we did some sight-seeing. We had dinner and then had a bit of a wander through town before going back to the B&B:
