Sydney Day 4

We didn’t do a great deal of sight-seeing today. We had a swim and spa in the hotel – very nice! – and then a leisurely brekky of the things we’d bought the other day: toast with salmon and poached eggs. Mmmmmm.

Instead of doing the planned Botanic Gardens tour today, we went to the Powerhouse Museum, since it was close by the hotel. I found it to be too expensive for what it was. I don’t know if the price was higher for the Harry Potter exhibition which finished the previous day, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. Half of the exhibitions didn’t seem to be working and there really wasn’t much of interest. I enjoyed some of the ‘Love Lace’ exhibit so didn’t feel completely ripped off.

We headed back to the hotel, having a light lunch on the way, and got our things together for the almost 2 hour trip out to Woollongong to meet up with John. He met us at Corromil station and drove us to Fairy Meadow where the three of us got on the free loop bus (No. 55) which took us right down to the Harbour, where we got off to have a nice coffee with a view (and take photos, naturally!):

After a good half hour or so here drinking coffee, we got back on the bus (runs every 10 minutes! Nice!) which then drove through the town and past the University. John reckons most of the customers are actually the University students.

We then went to John’s where he proceeded to make us a very nice dinner of prawns and pineapple curry with rice. We sat and chatted for a while until it was time to catch the train back into the city.

Then we had a nice little session in the spa at the hotel before a movie and bed.
